Week two at the Canada Summer Games has officially begun, and overall Monday was a good day for Manitoba.
Women's Volleyball
It was a two-game day for the Manitoba women's volleyball team, and after it, they have a perfect record to show for it.
In game one, they took on Yukon and absolutely thrashed them. They won 25-6, 25-5, 25-5.
Then they took on Nova Scotia, and despite losing the first set, the Manitoba women came out strong in the second set and won three straight sets to win the match 3-1, 27-29, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.
The team plays one game on Wednesday, against Saskatchewan who are 1-1 through two games.
Men's Volleyball
Just like the women's team, the Manitoba men's volleyball team dominated in their first game against Northwest Territories. They won in straight sets, 25-10, 25-11, 25-4.
In the team's second game, they took on the pool favourites Ontario and lost in straight sets 15-25, 23-25, 19-25.
The Manitoba men will play one game on Tuesday, at 6:00 p.m. against New Brunswick.
Women's Softball
After day one of the women's softball competition, the Manitoba women sit at 1-1.
The team came out on fire in game #1 winning 7-0 against Prince Edward Island, but they fell to Saskatchewan, 5-1 in game two.
The Manitoba women will play against Nova Scotia, and Quebec on Tuesday afternoon, and evening.
