The Winnipeg Blue Bombers didn't figure out their defence for the entire 60 minutes on Friday as they took on Ottawa, but once again, their offence proved to be enough as they will fly out of Ottawa after beating the Redblacks 33-30.
It was the second week in a row that the Bombers looked like they would lose, but for the second straight game, they stuck with it and were rewarded with the win.
Justin Medlock who had his long field goal streak snapped two games ago, played the hero for the Bombers as he broke the 30-30 tie.
In the win, Matt Nichols completion percentage was slightly lower than last week at just over 65 percent, but once again he threw for 300+ yards and was very good in the late stages when he was needed most.
Ryan Lankford was also huge in the win for the Bombers, catching two passes for 82 yards, one of which was for 79 yards.
In the loss, Brad Sinopoli and Greg Ellingson led the Redblacks with 98 and 59 yards respectively.
The Bombers now move to 4-2, while Ottawa drops to 1-5-1.
Next up for the Blue and Gold is a date with the Tiger Cats, next Saturday in Hamilton. Ottawa meanwhile will host Edmonton.
