Today the Manitoba Junior Hockey League made an announcement, that the league will hold a U.S. Prospects Camp in Grand Forks, North Dakota on May 12-13, 2018.

The camp will feature representatives from the league office and all eleven MJHL franchises that will be on site to scout players from the US that are born in 1999, through 2002.

“This is to get exposure for the league and to show some of these American players that they’re other options besides the North American league,” said Marc Berry, Head Coach/ General Manager for the Dauphin Kings. “It’s a feasible option for players who want to play in Canada, and this will open up kids eyes and allow us to let them know what we’re about.”

Berry also notes that the process of planning this camp has been behind closed doors for a while.

The camp will provide players from the US the knowledge, and resources to be successful both on and off the ice, and what it’s like to play in the MJHL.

It is expected that most of the players in the camp will come from North Dakota and Minnesota, but some will come from around the country as well.
