Day two action, and day three overall at the Canada Summer Games wrapped up this evening. Check out how Team Manitoba did below.

Men's Baseball

If winning 11-1 wasn't good enough for Team Manitoba on day one, winning both of their games on Sunday is a big step in the right direction in winning the Championship.

Manitoba beat Newfoundland and Labrador, 5-2 to begin the day, and then they blanked New Brunswick by a score of, 5-0.

Team Manitoba is now 3-0 and will play Prince Edward Island on Monday night, before the most anticipated matchup of the tournament so far, when they meet Ontario on Tuesday night.

Lyndon Zimmer from Inglis, Reece Wilson from Brandon, and Jared Bridges also from Brandon, have yet to crack the starting roster.

Men’s Basketball

Sloppy defence, poor offence and far too many missed opportunities held back team Manitoba men’s basketball tonight as they fell to one of the tournament favourites Ontario, 99-58.

Manitoba trailed for all but 14 seconds of the game, and never really stood a chance after their start against the very strong Ontario team.

Despite losing heavily, with their win in game one of the tournament, Manitoba has earned a bye to the quarterfinals. They will face either Alberta or Newfoundland and Labrador on Tuesday evening at the Duckworth Centre.

Women’s Basketball

After a tough loss in their first game, the Manitoba women had to put that game in the past, as they took on a very capable Saskatchewan team on Monday evening, and in the end, Manitoba came out with a 61-56 win.

Manitoba never trailed in the game, and only lost one-quarter (4th).

Anna Kemagan led Manitoba with 11 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The team will now wait until Ontario takes on Quebec tomorrow to see when they will play, but it is likely, just like the men’s team, that they will also get a bye to the quarterfinals.

Mountain Bike- Cross Country

Day one of the women’s action kicked off this morning. Becca Man finished 13th, and Chloe Penner finished 17th out of 21 bikers for Manitoba.

On the men’s side, 24 bikers took part, and Manitoba finished in 16th and 17th. Kailen Shackleton (16), and Carson Thompson (17) were the finishers for Manitoba.

Women’s Soccer

The Manitoba women’s soccer team kicked off their Canada Summer games on Sunday, with a 3-2 win over New Brunswick.

The team will now take on Nova Scotia on Monday. They beat New Brunswick, 8-0 on Saturday.

Men’s Softball

After four games, Manitoba sits at 1-3. Sunday was a day with two games, and it wasn’t a good day for the team, who lost 17-1 to Saskatchewan and 7-0 to British Columbia.

Manitoba will now play two games on Monday, against New Brunswick then against the powerhouse Ontario team.

Men’s Beach Volleyball

After two games, the Manitoba men’s beach volleyball team has looked dominant.

They beat New Brunswick in their first game of the day, 21-13, 21-14 and then followed that up with a 21-10, 21-12 win over Newfoundland and Labrador.

They next hit the sand on Monday afternoon against Yukon, and Monday night against Saskatchewan.

Women’s Beach Volleyball

Just like the men, the Manitoba women’s beach volleyball team has looked dominant through their first game.

In game one, they beat New Brunswick 21-13, 21-13.
