The 2017 Gilbert Plains men's open is set for this Saturday, July 8 at the Gilbert Plains Country Club.

The open will kick off on Saturday morning at 10:00 with a shotgun start, and will include prizes, a hole-in-one contest, food and the opportunity to meet new people while playing your best game.

General Manager of the Gilbert Plains Country Club, Scott McCallum is expecting a good turn out, and a great day.

"We are getting some great numbers right now, we are thinking we will get between 70 and 80 golfers." said McCallum.

You can still sign up for the men's open by calling the pro shop at 204-548-3030, or by visiting the pro shop in person, and as McCallum notes, this is an event you do not want to miss.

"Anytime that our golf course hosts an event, the grounds crew really gets together and puts the best product forward. The greens will be rolling fast, and the course will be in immaculate shape," said McCallum. "Anytime you can get the chance to play a course in great condition, you should and you can win some money, have a great meal and have some good times with friends.
