Curl Manitoba has awarded two local curlers with scholarships of $1500, and $1000.
Lauryn Kuzyk was awarded one of four $1500 scholarships under the Curling for Life Endowment Fun Scholarship Program and Hanne Jensen was awarded a $1000 Edna Moffat Spirit of Youth Scholarship.
Kuzyk and Jensen curled together this past year at the MHSAA women's curling Provincial Championships that were played at the Dauphin Curling Club.
In those provincials, the team lost their first game to College Jeanne Sauve 6-5, and CJS went on to lose in the Provincial Finals.
Jensen also took part in the 2017 Canola Growers Provincial Championships as a fifth for Emma Jensen. Their team finished with 3-4 record, just outside the playoff picture.
