The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1-0) beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders (0-2) 43-40 in double Overtime.

 

Both Kevin Glenn and Matt Nichols combined for over 700 passing yards. Glenn went  36/49 for 377yards and 4TD while Nichols went 23/36 for 331yards and 4TD. The top receiver was Weston Dressler who had 6 catches for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Riders started out with a 17-3 lead before the Bombers scored 24 unanswered points to lead 27-20... a L'Damian Washington touchdown would grow the lead to 34-20 for the Bombers. The teams then traded field goals, but back to back Rider touchdowns tied the game at 37-37 at the end of regulation.

In Overtime, the teams traded field goals on the 1st possession to tie the game 40-40. On the 2nd possession, Tyler Crapigna missed a 33 yard field goal for the Riders and then Justin Medlock hit a 31 yarder for the 43-40 win.

The game opened up the brand new $278 million Mosaic Stadium in Regina. 

Next game for the Bombers will be at home against Calgary on Friday.
