The Dauphin Kings Female Midget Hockey team hosted the Hamiota/Birtle Huskies for Game 2 of the Rural Female Midget Hockey League Final in Winnipegosis on Tuesday night.

Game 2 went to the Huskies in a 3-1 decision, as Hamiota/Birtle swept the best of three series 2-0.

In the first period, it was Dauphin Captain Megan Quesnel that lit the lamp for the home side, making it a 1-0 game.

But with 6 minutes left in the second period, Kara Kent put one high glove side on goalie Marley Quesnel, tying the hockey game in the third period.

The final stanza started good for the Kings, but the Huskies were just too fast, as Kent would add another goal early in the third, and Joceyln Zimmer added some insurance, as Hamiota/Birtle would go on to win the game 3-1.

The two teams are likely to meet again in Provincials this weekend in Hamiota, so both teams still have one more tournament before seasons end.

CKDM will have coverage of the action this weekend as the Dauphin Kings go for a Provincial gold this weekend
