The Dauphin Minor Baseball Association is getting set for an exciting 2017 season.
The organization is attempting to improve recruitment numbers and grow the sport in the Dauphin area.
President of DMBA Jodie Romanow is excited for the new season.
"We're starting this year with an all new Board and Executive. All four Executive positions are filled by new members and we've put into place some new initiatives focusing on player recruitment and our coaches: having our coaches certified and helping them along in the process."
Romanow also adds that getting more coaches involved will be imperative going forward.
However, coaching isn't the only thing DMBA is focusing on.
Vice President Curtis Kaleta feels that more kids should be playing baseball at the Amateur level.
"What it is, is you get them outside, which a lot of kids, nowadays especially, don't get enough outdoor activities, so we're trying to encourage them to get outside and get some exercise, have some fun and learn the sport of Baseball which is a pretty fun sport."
