After a scoreless first period both teams began finding the back of the net in the second period, OCN ultimately coming out on top 5-4.
The Kings got a lot of help from their defense with Austin Friesen and Trevor Selk recording two of the Kings tallies, each added an assist as well.
Austin Friesen got the Kings on the board first with a power play goal. The Kings finished 2-for-4 with the extra attacker.
The Blizzard scored two to put themselves out in front 2-1, then Trevor Selk got a monkey off his back, finally recording his first MJHL goal to tie the game 2-2.
OCN added two goals from Brady Keeper and a highlight reel tic-tac-toe Tristan Elie goal from Jeremy Dumont.
To start the third Riese Gaber completed a full rotation of OCN's zone on the power play and scored on a wrap-around to bring the Kings within one. However, Eamon Miller did almost the same a few moments later, to restore OCN's two goal lead.
Within the last 5 minutes the Kings got back to within a goal after Trevor Selk put a shot toward the net that Daniel Chartrand redirected to make the score 5-4.
With 1:18 remaining the Kings were given a power play after Keaton Leininger was cross checked in front of the net, giving the Kings a two-man advantage with Holtby out of the net.
Despite a number of chances, the Kings couldn't solve Matt Kustra, who earned his first win as a member of the OCN Blizzard.
The Kings now look ahead to tomorrow's practice in Winnipegosis, then to Friday's home game against the Portage Terriers.
