The Dauphin Kings recorded their first wino f the season thanks to big offensive nights from Kirklan Lycar and Dauphin's Daniel Chartrand.
The Kings leading scorer last year looks like he's returning to form. Kirklan Lycar scored all of the Kings goals in a 3-2 victory during their home opener against the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The Kings got on the board in the first period after Lycar drove a puck to the net, it slid off his stick and by Stampeders goaltender Brett Evan of Grandview.
Lycar scored twice in the second period to complete a natural hat trick, Dauphin's Daniel Chartrand assisted on each goal.
Swan scored in the last minute of both the second and third periods thanks to goals from Brandon's Carter McMurdo, and Jordan Valentino, in a comeback bid which would ultimately come up short.
The Kings are in action again when the Selkirk Steelers come into town on Sunday for a 6:00pm start.
