They scored four times, Cole Sheffield made some outstanding saves in the third, and the Dauphin Kings picked up a massive win over the Niverville Nighthawks on Sunday afternoon.
Matthew Haun led the way for Dauphin with two goals as Dauphin held on for a thrilling 4-3 win in front of a great crowd on a chilly day in the City of Sunshine. Sheffield finished with 27 saves as Dauphin won their past two games on home ice.
Havryil Simchuk had another incredible goal for Dauphin and a great assist to finish the game with two points. Ethan Stewart also scored for Dauphin in the victory.
Dauphin (31-13-1-1) picked up their 64th point of the season and are nine ahead of the Northern Manitoba Blizzard for first place in the MGEU West Division. They're also three ahead of Niverville for fourth place in the league.
Dauphin also inches closer to Portage in the overall standings, being five points back with a game in hand, and one more game against the Terriers.
