The Dauphin Clippers football team had aspirations of going on a long playoff run in the Rural Manitoba Football League.

While that did not happen, the team can hold their heads high as it was a year to remember on the field at the Myles Haverluck Athletics Facility and around the province. The Clippers saw their season come to an end on Sunday afternoon in a 26-20 defeat against the Moosomin Generals.

Highlights of the Clippers season included a great comeback win against Swan Valley and clinching home-field advantage in the playoffs. While it wasn't the ending the team was hoping for, there is lots of optimism heading into next season.

Robbie Tomkins is the team's defensive co-ordinator and he wanted to thank each and every player on the team.

"This team is special. They played together and for each other all season long," said Tomkins. "They were a talented group and they left everything on the field. I had the great honour of coaching our defensive group and they were incredible, very proud of them."

Tomkins says Clippers Roll On.

"Although we came up short against the Generals, this was a successful season for our group," ended Tomkins. "We started as a team and we ended the season as a family, that's the biggest win of all."
