The Grand Plains U13 Ice Dogs hosted and won a Provincial Championship on their home ice on Sunday afternoon.

The team capped off a perfect weekend with an outstanding performance in the final as they beat Stonewall, 4-0, to claim the gold medal. Connelly McDonald scored twice for Grand Plains in the finals to lead the effort offensively. Tori Luhowy and Brookelynn Hess both scored singles. 

The group put together four amazing defensive performances throughout the weekend as they allowed just two goals in four games and they scored 21 times. 

Connelly McDonald finished the weekend with eight goals and three assists while Scotia Smith was second in team scoring with four goals and three assists. Both Jacy Froese and Kaysi Sliworsky were dominant between the pipes.
