Her dad and many others always believed she would be excellent on the field playing rugby, and it turns out that was precisely the case.

Brooke Miner didn't join the Dauphin Clippers rugby program until she was in grade 12, but when she did, she enjoyed immediate success as she helped the Clippers get to the top of the province. Coming very close in 15s, Miner and the rest of her teammates got the job done in 7s as they won a provincial championship.  Her time as a Clipper was relatively short, but it was a season that Brooke will never forget.

"I really enjoyed it, I had a lot of fun," said Miner. "The team was very inclusive and I learned a lot, it was a great year and it was an amazing feeling to win a provincial championship, especially in my last year of high school."

While Brooke's time as a Clipper on the rugby field has come to an end, her rugby journey will continue as the Dauphinite has committed to play with the Brandon Bobcats university team. Playing against teams throughout Western Canada, the Bobcats went a perfect 5-0 in the Manitoba Rugby 7s tournament in Winnipeg before ending the season on a five-game winless streak. Being relatively new to the game, Miner is looking forward to learning and having success at the next level.

"I'm very excited to become a Bobcat, everything has happened so quickly," ended Miner. "It's a great opportunity and I'm ready to learn everything there is about the game."

The Bobcats season typically begins in late September and concludes in late January. Brooke will also be joining Chloe Fletcher -- a teammate and great friend of hers from Dauphin -- who has also committed to the Bobcat program.
