It was a great season of volleyball for the Parkland U14 Predators girls team.

This year's roster included Magen Taylor, Claire Davis, Charlie Herman, Layne Minshull, Emily Mikolayenko, Addison Knight, Reese Graham, and Baylee McNabb. The head coach was Josh Braaksma and assistant coach Sheldon Graham.

The team won a bronze medal on three different occasions playing in tournaments in Virden, Dauphin and Brandon. What's more impressive about that is they only played in four tournaments.

"We weren't sure what we were going to start off with when we hosted tryouts," said Graham. "We certainly exceeded our expectations so we're extremely happy about that. Everyone worked so hard and it ended off well."

The team then ended off their season by competing in the provincial championships and they once again ended on the podium, this time with a silver medal. They played extremely well all season, ultimately coming up short against Dynamo in a championship thriller.

"We had a tough pool and ended up winning two of our three games in the round-robin," offered Graham. "A silver medal is pretty awesome and the girls should be extremely proud of themselves, they worked so hard all season."

Sheldon went on to say that volleyball in the Parkland is in a very good spot.
