The Dauphin Kings finished last week strong with a 6-1 victory over the Neepawa Natives and they’ll look to carry over their good play in that game into three contests this week.

 

In case you missed it last week the Kings went 1-2-0. They lost 6-3 to Portage, 7-3 to Winnipeg and then grabbed that win in Neepawa.

This week the Kings have three games on tap. Tuesday they welcome the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to Credit Union Place, game time is 7:00pm. After Tuesday the Kings play two games over three days on the weekend. Friday they visit the Winkler Flyers for the first time this season and then on Saturday they’ll skate with the Blues in Winnipeg.

Both of the tilts on the weekend can be heard on 730 CKDM. Friday’s is a 7:30pm start time while Sunday’s contest goes at 6:30pm.

Three ‘s Of The Week

3. Tyler Garrioch

Although he didn’t show up much on the score sheet Tyler Garrioch played well for the Dauphin Kings this past week, especially in Neepawa. The Captain did not lead the way offensively, but with his play on the ice. Garrioch had a goal and two assists last week and enters this week on a three game point streak. This season the Winnipeg forward has three goals and seven assists, seventh on the team in points.

2. Matthew Greening

Matthew Greening continues to play solid hockey in the month of November after being named the MJHL’s Rookie of the Month for September/October. When it comes to last week the Dauphin product had two goals and an assist in his three outings. He leads the team in points with 17 so far this season (6G, 11A). In his last 12 games, Greening had points in nine of them. He had a nice goal in Neepawa Saturday night (Below).

1. Chance Thomas

Chance Thomas was another 20 year old that stepped up on Saturday for the Dauphin Kings. He played one of his best games of the season and helped the club snap its four game losing skid. Thomas had one assist on Saturday night in Neepawa, but his line combined for five points. Over the three games last week Thomas had three goals and an assist. He enters this week on a four game point streak. The line of Thomas, Morrison and Greening picked up 10 points last week (4G, 6A).
