It’s been nearly three decades, but a Dauphin hockey team has pulled off something massive.

For the first time in 29 years, a team from the City of Sunshine has won two Tournament of Champions events in one single season.

Earlier this season, the Dauphin Super 8 Bantam Kings won a preliminary Tournament of Champions event in Minnedosa which earned them a berth in the big Tournament of Champions event in Brandon.

Today, the Kings won the tournament as they beat Flin Flon, 4-3 in the final. Matthew Zurba led the scoring for Dauphin with two goals.

Bradyn Paskaruk, and Tyron Sweetman both scored singles in the game.

The team that pulled this off 29 years ago featured the likes of Scott McCallum and Mark Odut.
