The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup is back and that means a hockey team in the Parkland could win $100,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.

In its fourth year, the Pas Huskies were big winners two seasons ago. They came together to help at a homeless shelter which was set to close, but not after the help from the Huskies.

I had the chance to chat with Carolina Ouellette who is a 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist with the Canadian Women's National Team. She's also a Good Deeds Cup program Ambassador.

"This program inspires peewee hockey teams to get involved in their local communities. A good deed can be done in many different ways," said Ouellette. "I've been able to witness many good deeds and I've been a part of the winning team's celebrations. It's an incredible program and we urge peewee teams to get involved."

Now you can head to Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup. When your team signs up, you'll receive a puck bag, a coaches' board, a Good Deeds Golden Puck, and Good Deeds Stickers. You can then create a video of how your team is helping out in the Parkland.

The video can be submitted from November 2-January 13. On January 25, 11 regional finalists from across the country will be chosen. That includes one from each province and territory.

From January 25-February 9, the voting begins. A top-3 will then be announced.

"The winner will be announced on Hockey Night in Canada on February 29," continued Ouellette.

The winning team will earn as mentioned before $100,000 towards a charity of their choice. The team will also have a party with Ouellette and many other Good Deeds Cup members. The name of the team will also be engraved on the Good Deeds Cup, which is the same size as the Stanley Cup.

"It can be any kind of good deed, it's all about creating a positive move in your community," concluded Ouellette. "We invite teams to be creative, have fun with it, and see what they can come up with. It's early in the season so this is also a great team builder."

The West Kelowna Warriors won last year's Good Deeds Cup.
