The Dauphin Kings scored a big victory against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Saturday night at Credit Union Place, winning 3-2 in a shootout.
Kirklan Lycar and Connor Shaw were the standouts in contest for the Kings. Lycar (16) had a goal and the winner in the shootout while Shaw (6-5) made 14 saves on 16 shots.
The affair was a tight one. After going up 1-0 early on Chance Thomas’ 17th of the season the Kings fell behind 2-1 following two quick tallies by Wayway. Dauphin stuck with their game in the second period and Lycar eventually tied things up on a rebound. There was no scoring in the third but both teams came close, same goes for overtime. Connor Shaw made a huge toe save in the fourth period to keep Dauphin alive. Kirklan Lycar then stepped up in the shootout, he was the final shooter for Dauphin. Shaw then made the game winning save after.
