How many young kids can say they've curled on the same ice as the best in Canada when the brightest of lights are shining. Dauphin's Landon Hadway can say he did just that.

He took part in the Hit, Draw, and Tap competition at the Tim Hortons Brier last weekend in Brandon between the semifinal and final. Landon won the 11-13-year-old Zone Championships that took place on January 12 at the Dauphin Curling Club.

"It was extremely exciting to be out there," said Hadway. "I was also pretty nervous as well. I just tried not thinking about it."

Landon didn't perform as well as he would have hoped, but just getting the opportunity to compete, was an accomplishment that he will never forget.

"I was really just happy that I got to take part," added Hadway.

A couple of other Parklanders also took part in the event.

6-8 Division: Grandview's, Tory Luhowy.

9-10 Division: Swan River's, Abbigayle Scales.
