For the second straight year, Ochre River's Emma Jensen, McCreary's Jaycee Terrick, Kaitlyn Szewczyk, and Gilbert Plains Gracey Gulak are Provincial Champions. The team captured the top spot at the Under-18 curling provincials that wrapped up yesterday.

The team scored three in the final end to secure the win.

"I don't even really know what to say, I'm honestly just so shocked with everything," said Jensen. "Being down by two going into the final end, we didn't really expect to win. We played three straight games yesterday and we were exhausted, but we pulled through to get the win."

"We never gave up all weekend long," she added. "We didn't think scoring three in the last end was possible but we just kept going and we never gave up. I'm so proud of the girls."

The foursome alongside coach Al Jensen will now head to Sherwood Park, Alberta for the Under-18 National Championships that go from April 2-7. Last year the team went 0-6, but they did curl well throughout the week against the best around Canada at the U18 level.

"I think the nerves are definitely not as high as they were last year, we sort of know what to expect," said Jensen. "We're just going to go in and play like we did this past weekend and we'll see how things go. We're really excited for the opportunity once again."

Joining Jensen and her foursome on the men's side is the McDonald rink.
