If you haven't already, it's time to dust off those curling brooms and lace up the good ole shoes.

You can brush up your skills and get a head start on the competition as the Dauphin Curling Club is open for practices.

The time of the practices are as followed:

Monday - 7-10:00 a.m.

Tuesday & Wednesday - 11:45-12:45 p.m.

Friday - 4-5:30 p.m.

Saturday - 6-8:00 p.m.

All of these practice times are completely free for Dauphin Curling Club members. That means, if you play in one of the leagues at the DCC, you can practice during those hours completely free.

If you're from out of town or you're not in a league, you can pay $5 and get some practice in.

"We're really excited that the ice is in and we know people are excited that they can practice," said Tamara Kolida, Programs and Promotions Coordinator at the Parkland Rec Complex. "So now, hopefully, lots come out and take advantage of the ice."

Once again the DCC will offer several leagues this season.

Ladies League - Monday nights.

Men's League - Wednesday nights.

Afternoon League - Monday & Wednesday afternoons.

Legion League - Thursday afternoons.

Throughout the season, various tournaments will take over the DCC. Most of which are open to you!

Fun Spiel - November 16,17.

Farmers Spiel - January 19.

Ladies Spiel - February 8-10.

Junior Spiel - February 15-16.

Legion Spiel - February 22-24.

Men's Spiel - March 1-3.

Senior Spiel & Windup - March 13.

"We're hoping a lot of people come and try out the game," said Kolida. "It's an awesome way to meet new people especially if you're new to town. You can even just sign up as a spare and there is a really good chance you'll get a lot of chances to play. It's a great game and you'll love it."

If you want to join a league as a spare or find a full-time team, you can give Tamara a call at the Parkland Rec Complex at 622-3150.

The curling season is here, so make sure you sweep, sweep your way hard to the button.
