TOBY KEITH'S HOUSTON BAR IN TROUBLE

Toby Keith's restaurant in Houston has shut its doors because management is not paying its bills. KHOU-TV reports a note was posted on the I Love This Bar And Grill saying it was closed because it was behind on its rent. Contractors also say they're due 150-thouand dollars for work done at the bar. Keith's main page for his restaurants no longer lists the Houston location.

It does, however, list a press release pointing out that Keith was the highest-paid country artist last year for a second year in a row, with 65-million in earnings in one year.

NEIL DIAMOND KEEPS HIS MUSIC PRIVATE WHILE STILL WORKING

Neil Diamond won't share his works in progress with anyone until he gets them recorded. Diamond says once he gets them down on tape, he'll share with a few people and let them draw conclusions. He wrote some songs for his wife, Katie, and she was one of the few people he would let hear them, but only after they were recorded. They became his ``Melody Road'' record. Diamond says his wife was delighted with the songs and he's glad that she was.

However, he says he didn't want any other voice involved in the creation of the album other than his own.
