The club will be taking part in AAAA Provincials this weekend in Winnipeg. They're one of six teams in the hunt for the top prize in high school hockey in Manitoba.

The two other groups in Dauphin's pool are the St.Paul's Crusaders and the Oak Park Raiders.

Head Coach of the Clippers, Rick Freese, says they've been keeping a steady pace at practice over the last week.

"We've had four practices since our last provincial series and we're sticking to our routine. We're continuing with emphasis on the defensive side of the puck. We're getting ready to play some top calibre teams that have good offence, so defence will be key."

Freese adds his team will be in tough, and they'll need at least one win to make it to the semi finals.

"Oak Park is a really good squad, we had a good game against them earlier in the season and beat them. St.Paul's is number one in the province, they got the talent and the speed. They've also got big guys that are gonna come at us and challenge us physically. There is no room for error here, there is no taking shifts or periods off. This is one of those things where we have to be on it all the time to be successful and hopefully the boys are ready to go."

The Clippers begin their High School Hockey AAAA Provincials Friday just after noon when they take on the Oak Park Raiders, later in the day they'll battle the top ranked St.Paul's Crusaders.
