The best weekend went to the Dauphin Female Midget Kings who won on home ice. They took out the Hamiota Huskies 1-0 in the Gold Medal Game for Rural C/D Provincials. Jasimin Denby had the lone goal and the shut out was the second straight from Kennedy Johnson. She shut out Steinbach 1-0 in the Semi Finals earlier in the day.

Head Coach of the Female Midget Kings, Phil Fafard, says it was a fun weekend to be apart of.

"It's actually quite unbelievable, it's a dream come true. We didn't expect to come in and win the tournament at home. We wanted to host a provincial event, we hadn't done that in a long time. So our goal was to come in and have a good showing. We finished fourth out of five in our league and the girls scrapped hard all weekend and we won gold."

Dauphin also hosted the Female Midget A/B tournament for Hockey Manitoba. In that one it was the Stonewall Blues coming out on top. They beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-2 Sunday afternoon.

Here's what else went on this past weekend...
