Manitoba NDP Leader, Wab Kinew, wants the province to take the lead in turning Churchill’s medical centre into a health-care hub for Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
He echoed comments Churchill’s mayor made that a more expansive health-care centre could also serve as an economic driver for the town.
Manitoba Health Minister Kelvin Goertzen’s spokesperson says there are no plans to increase services there.
