For-profit medical services are a concern with Health Canada.
Prota Clinic, a private Winnipeg based company, plans to offer echocardiograms for $650.
The Province has approved these services, but Health Canada has not.
In a statement from a spokesperson for Health Canada, it was stated that "health services should be based on medical need and not the ability and willingness to pay."
