Public health officials announced 181 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths.

The most recent deaths include two men over the age of 50 from Winnipeg. One of the cases is linked to a variant of concern.

Dauphin has 3 new cases, for a total of 7 cases in the city.

The outbreak at the Boissevain School has been declared over.

The province is advising of multiple exposures in the Prairie Mountain health region, in Minnedosa, Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, and Skownan First Nation.

 Today’s new COVID-19 cases are in the following health regions:

• nine cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region 
• 29 cases in the Northern health region  
• 19 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
• 21 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
• 103 cases in the Winnipeg health region

There have been 1,201 variant of concern cases in the province, 499 are active.

Prairie Mountain Health has 59 variant cases, 49 are the B.1.1.7., one is the B.1.3.5.1., and nine are unspecified.

There have been a total of 37,069 cases and a total of 964 deaths in the province.

There are 1,739 active cases and 34,366 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.

There are 73 people in hospital with active COVID-19 and 71 people in hospital who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 144 hospitalizations.

There are 21 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 and 14 people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, for a total of 35 ICU patients.

According to the province’s data, there are active cases of COVID-19 in the following Parkland health districts: Swan River (1), Porcupine Mountain (46), Dauphin (7), Riding Mountain (0), Duck Mountain (2), Agassiz Mountain (9), Asessippi (3), Little Saskatchewan (1), Whitemud (6). Brandon has 23 active cases.

In the Interlake, the Eriksdale/Ashern health district has four active cases of COVID-19. The Fisher/Peguis health district has seven active cases.
