The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable beef launched their Certified Sustainable Beef Framework.

The release yesterday afternoon is set to help producers and processors align themselves to make their products as sustainable as possible.

Chair of the Roundtable Cherie Copthorne-Barnes talks about how Parkland producers are going to be impacted by the new framework.

“I think it will allow them opportunities to participate in some of the pilots coming down the pipeline in regards to building the inventory. Because really our framework is being launched in two phases. The launch we are having today is really focused on producers and those certification bodies those guys that are going to audit the answers producers can give.”

The program has been in the works for over two years, which is pretty quick compared to other organizations on the international stage.
