The Liberal government will announce more than 100-million dollars in compensation today for those in the L-G-B-T-Q community who lost jobs and faced systemic persecution.

It comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gets set to apologize in the House of Commons to those investigated, sanctioned and sometimes fired as part of the so-called ``gay purge.''

In addition to the compensation and apology, the government is also tabling legislation to expunge any criminal records from the era where homosexual acts were illegal.
