Manitoba AG EX is finished for another year and with over 800 cattle show entries and close to 1300 head of livestock through the Keystone Centre during the four days, organizers are very pleased with the results.

“We saw an increase this year in our cattle entries including both commercial and purebred.” Said Ron Kristjansson, general manager at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba. “The additional of the 4-H Art Challenge was a wonderful fitfor our youth support programs and the parade of cattle champions in the opening ceremony of the MFR Championship was especially fitting.”

The Manitoba Finals Rodeo brought in just over 6000 visitors over the 3 nights of competition. “Partnering with the Provincial Exhibition and Manitoba Ex has produced another very successful year for the Manitoba Finals Rodeo.” Said
Dan Tober, president of the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association. “We’ve seen a lot more people and more enthusiasm throughout the entire community; it just makes everything more electric throughout the event and the Keystone Centre.”

Manitoba Superhorse had 24 entries in this year’s show. First place took home $10,000.00 and over $35,000 worth of prize money and prizes was handed out. Organizer, Julie Bridgman reported 38 foals sold during the event with an average sale price of just under $1500.00 and the high seller going for $5250.00.

Keystone Centre General Manager, Jeff Schumacher took the opportunity to experience his first Manitoba AG Ex this week. “It was a great opportunity to tour the venue during the event with members of the Provincial Exhibition and say hello to various event partners and volunteers.” Said Schumacher. “While attending the 4-H Art event with the Manitoba Minister of Agriculture, our local MLA’s and Mayor, it reinforced the importance of agriculture in our community, and the importance of educating and teaching the next generation… and having some fun along the way.”
