Police searched west Winnipeg for two suspects after an armed robbery led to quite a disturbance near Ness Avenue and Sturgeon Road yesterday night.
Emergency crews were called to Gizzys Restaurant & Bar in the Sturgeon Creek Village strip mall around 8:30 p.m after a gunshot was fired.
Witnesses described pandemonium, including two suspects running out and fighting with a machete — one of them wearing a jester-type costume.
Police said one person was treated for a minor injury after the incident and has been released from hospital. The Winnipeg police major crimes unit is investigating the robbery.
