The 2018 rent guidelines have been set at an increase of 1 point 3 per cent. Manitoba Justice says the increase will take effect on January 1st.
Tenants must receive written notice if their rent is to increase at least 3 months before it takes effect.
Landlords are able to apply for an increase above the guideline set out today if they are able to show the guideline will not cover the cost increases they have incurred.
