Residents in Gilbert Plains gathered at the Gilbert Plains Collegiate Institute’s gymnasium for a special screening of CBC’s Still Standing episode featuring their community last night.
Over 70 people were in attendance for the special viewing.
Julie Russell, Gilbert Plains Community Development Officer, notes what she hopes this will do for the community.
“I hope it puts us on the map,” noted Russell. “It’s great timing because I think the hemp plants are starting up right away and I think it’s just a great way to bring the community together. I feel it has really gotten the word out there on who Gilbert Plains is and what we have to offer.”
The episode was filmed last October.
