Gilbert Plains recently received funding from the federal and provincial governments to go towards their community hall project.

The decision made to renovate the hall instead of build a new one was decided on last year after an open town consultation meeting was held.

Gilbert Plains Reeve, Blake Price, notes how much funding the committee received.

“We were fortunate enough to receive a sizeable grant from the Small Communities Fund,” explained Price.  “It was a grant of $500,000 jointly shared between federal and provincial governments.”

The Gilbert Plains Hall committee hopes to start the first phase of renovations by next March.
