The Manitoba Government is cutting a grant program to save over $510,000 annually.

The cuts will affect the Dauphin Neighborhood Renewal corporation.

Mary Myhre, Executive Director for the DNRC, talks about what the program does.

"It was funding that DNRC has received through the past 3 years through Manitoba Housing, we've received $25,500 in 2013,15 and 16 and that money was granted out in grants of up to $2500 to homeowners in the City of Dauphin."

The program being cut will affect 20 community renewal groups around the province.

There are still a few programs that the DNRC benefits from, the 2 programs are the homeowner renovation assistance program and the rental housing improvement program.
