The Assiniboine Community College is partnering with the Waywayseecappo First Nation to provide students with a 26 week applied building construction program.
Gabe Mercier, Director of Parkland Campus gives more details on what this new partnership does.
"It provides students with the skill that will allow them to function in the communities to build the housing required in the aboriginal community. There is lots of housing being built in Waywayseecappo and this will help add to the capacity to complete and build these houses."
The program is receiving almost $200,000 from Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada.
