On July 5, Rossburn RCMP attended the scene of a reported cattle theft.

The cattle were reported stolen from a pasture near the village of Olha, Manitoba. When RCMP arrived, a gate leading from a holding pen to the pasture was tied with twine, leaving the cattle herded from the pasture only one route to go. Two cows had been left behind, and because the gate to the pasture had been tied shut, the cows had no access to food or water and died of dehydration. Approximately 21 cattle and 28 to 31 calves have been reported as stolen. The remainder of the herd was left in the pasture. It is believed the theft occurred approximately two weeks from this date. There have been no other reported livestock thefts in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Rossburn RCMP at 204-859-2057 or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
