Canada day celebrations were well attended this year in Riding Mountain National Park.

With the great weather and the free park passes available Cal Martin, Acting Visitor Experience Manager at the park, talks about how many people attended this weekend’s festivities.

"Just over 10,500 on those 2 days, so it is just slightly more than last year. Last year we just broke 10,000. But I suspect that when the final numbers come in, it will show that we had quite a few more people than last year."

The park has been making some changes to accommodate the larger than a normal number of visitors during Canada’s 150th anniversary including more parking places.
