A new crop is quickly gaining popularity in Gilbert Plains.
Hemp Sense Inc. based out of Gilbert has been looking into innovative ways in cultivating the crop, and how the industry can grow in Canada.
President Lyle Bates, feels what Hemp Sense is doing is extremely unique to the Canadian market.
"What we're doing first it's a new technology, it's never been done before in the hemp industry [...] Most places in Europe any where across the world they separate the fibre and the herd -- we're not doing that -- we're actually shredding the whole bail and making products out of it."
