With spring here, many farmers will be eager to get out in the fields and get them ready for seeding.

However, it's important to understand the rules and regulations associated with seeding before jumping into it.

According to Dauphin Fire Chief Cam Abrey, conditions for burning are ideal right now and it's important to follow the rules set in place with burning permits.

"Here in the RM of Dauphin we do have a burn permit process that is in place, and burning permits are available free to anybody that goes to the RM office and picks one up [...] the great part about it is that it's a communication tool, it's giving us the Fire Department the awareness of what you're planning to burn, when you're planing to burn it and it outlines the law or the rules that the RM has put in place by their by-law as well."

Abrey also says that the owner bares responsibility for property damage.
