As Dauphin Lake Golf Resort continue to put on the final preparations for this Saturday's inaugural Ice Fishing Derby, the golf club has made another big announcement.
Earlier this week, the DLGR welcomed Ray Karlson who will be taking on the responsibility as the club's new general manager.
Karlson is looking at the new position as an exciting challenge.
"My focus coming in will be the golf course itself and sales of the tepees for EFIG, we need to grow golf again, we need to make golf exciting again we need the kids to come out [...] golf is a sport that you can play well into you later years, we need to spread that word and get people onto the course."
Karlson has resided in the area since 1991 and presently lives at Dauphin Beach.
