The provincial government's goal to ensure no health region incurs a deficit has reached Prairie Mountain Health.

PMH, along with four other authorities throughout the province have been given their savings target.

PMH has been asked to save 17.5 million dollars.

This announcement from PMH follows news that the Manitoba Government told the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority to come up with more than 80-million dollars in savings during the 2017-2018 fiscal year.

PMH CEO Penny Gilson has released a statement in regards to this announcment, saying that PMH will review all their options in order to reach this target.

A final report on a government-ordered review of the province's health-care system is expected next month.
