This Friday's edition of the Grandview Exponent, will be it's last.

The paper that began publishing in 1900, will close it's doors after 117 years.

President of the Manitoba Community Newspapers Association Ken Waddell understands that this is a sad time for not only the community, but for the province.

"It's very sad, I mean, all the members across the province are saddened by the decision that had to be made to close the paper. 117 years is a long time, this paper has been a pillar of the community for a long, long time, and it's going to be tough on the community, for them to deal with that."

In the early years, the paper concentrated on local industries throughout the community such as the creamery, flour mill, and sawmill to name a few quickly incorporating the town of Grandview in 1906.
