A local Dauphinite credits his rural upbringing on the farm in helping him become the man he is today.
Dave Whitmore has worked for Peak of the Market for the past 22 years, currently acting as vice-president of sales with the company.
According to Whitmore living in Dauphin taught him important life skills moving forward.
"The Whitmore's have been in Dauphin for a long time -- we were some of the first settlers in Dauphin -- my dad got the century farm in 1984 and living in Dauphin we had to work hard... growing up I worked a little bit with Bilous Gardens and packed potatoes by hand, I think I had four paper routes and cut grass for everybody I could think of."
Whitmore also says he visits Dauphin frequently and is glad to see the community growing.
