Dauphin's warming shelter has a new roof.
Construction of the shelter including heating equipment was already complete in December, however a redesign of the roof postponed the opening of the structure.

Director of Public Works and Operations with the City of Dauphin Bill Brenner feels the new designed roof will hold true to the station's history.

"The intent was to try and make it fit in better because the CN building is a designated heritage site, there were some concerns that it was going to stick out and that we should have a more historical field to the building... we decided that if we added a roof similar to the CN Station that it would probably gives us the look and help it fit in better and I think it turned out very well."

The CN warming shelter is expected to be open to the public sometime next week.
