The chair of the Dauphin Rec Services board says it's premature to speculate what the effect of a drop in funding from the RM of Dauphin will be.

Ron Hedley says the plan going forward is to have the finance committee meet and see what impact it may have.

"It'd be easy to overreact right now. I think it's probably time just to see how it might impact us going forward."

The RM of Dauphin has decided to opt out of its per capita funding agreement with the city for DRS, and will now determine its annual contribution on a year-to-year basis. It will be providing $250,000 to DRS in 2017.
