Resurfacing Work Begins Again on Highway 10
Phase two of a five phase project is now underway on Highway 10 through Riding Mountain National Park.
Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa MP Robert Sopuck calls highway 10 an important economic conduit for our community.
"Many people live on each end of the park and drive through every day to work at jobs on the other end."
This phase of roadwork is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Day One of School
School-aged kids are getting up a little earlier than they've had to for the past two months: school is back!
Though there are likely to be some students who have a different word to describe it, Mountain View School Division superintendent Donna Davidson says the beginning of the school year is always exciting.
"It brings that sense of new possibilities, that sense of supporting all learners to be the best they possibly can be, and meeting our mission and our vision."
Davidson says MVSD is welcoming just over 3,000 students to their schools this year.

New Recycling Containers Up in City of Dauphin
Ottenbreit Sanitation Services begins its door-to-door recycling pick-up duties in the City of Dauphin next week.
As of now, the city has a new residential recycling depot across from the Rotary Arena on 1st Avenue Southeast.
There are two large 30 cubic yard containers -- one for cardboard and paper, and another for mixed material.
Recyclables are asked not to be placed in plastic bags.

Missing Woman Highlights Need for Immediate Action, Says First Nations Leader
The grand chief who represents northern Manitoba First Nations says a 21-year-old woman's disappearance underlines the urgent need to address the issue of missing and murdered aboriginal women.
Sheila North Wilson says while a federal inquiry is just beginning into the issue, it's time for action now to stop what's been happening.
The parents of 21-year-old Christine Wood held a tearful news conference yesterday to appeal for help finding their daughter, who disappeared without a trace last month.
The family from Oxford House First Nation was staying at a hotel in Winnipeg on August 19th, when Wood left for the evening and she hasn't been seen or heard from since.
