Rescue Efforts Continue After Deadly Earthquake in Italy
An earthquake in Italy has killed at least 38 people.
A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit central Italy early Wednesday morning, around 3:30 local time.
Rescuers are still looking for survivors.
The mayor of hard-hit Amatrice says "the town isn't here anymore.''

Recycling is Business as Usual Until OSS Start Dates
A couple Parkland municipalities are telling residents to pay no mind to the new recycling and waste equipment for the time being.
New rolling carts for garbage and recycling collection are being distributed in Ethelbert but they aren't to be used yet.
Ethelbert's changeover to Ottenbreit Sanitation Services will be on September 5 for recycling and September 6 for garbage.
Until then, keep doing things as you have been.
In the RM of Dauphin, there are new large recycling containers throughout the municipality. They are not to be used until September 6 because OSS doesn't start there until that date.
The City of Dauphin will soon be giving residents a similar message. It's new recycling carts will be distributed later this month, but they aren't to be used until September 13.

Almost 15,000 on Wait List for Child Care in Manitoba
It's not good news for Manitoba parents looking for child care as the new school year approaches.
Minister of Families Scott Fielding says the wait list as of July 31st is 14,872.
He says the province acknowledges that too many families in Manitoba are waiting for childcare spaces and that action is required.
Pat Wege, executive director of the Manitoba Child Care Association, says licensing of new spaces has not caught up to demand.
She says there are about 34,000 childcare spaces in Manitoba and if parents want more, they should contact their elected officials.

Ochre River Community Foundation Fundraising Dinner This Saturday
An annual fundraising and grant awards night happens this weekend in Lakeshore.
Ochre River Community Foundation Chairperson, Kim Safronetz says its the only yearly fundraising event they have, and says it helps several local initiatives.
"Different organizations will put in applications for funding and we give out grants... The cemetary... different parks, kids' clubs."
The dinner begins at 5:30 on Saturday at the Ochre River Community Hall. Tickets are available until tomorrow. To get tickets you can call Safronetz or ask for Tracy at the municipal office.
